Himaya Daeem Wa Aataa:
Plastic waste management for a plastic free coast in Chekka (7 months)
Location: Chekka
This project aims for conducting sessions about the SWM Policy of Chekka municipality to all residents and to promote the use of cloth bags in Supermarkets and to women groups sewing cloth bags; Encouraging reusing and up-cycling plastic and rubber; Mobilize resorts and fishermen to properly sort their waste. Distribute bins to fishermen, on touristic, and remote areas.
Lebanese Developers:
Removing abandoned nylon fishnets Akkar coast (11 months)
Location: Abdeh-Akkar
With support from the Municipality of Abdeh, Lebanese Developers aims at installing storage boxes in the Abdeh port for the collection of fishnets, purchasing a shredding and a pellet machine to collect and shred nylon fishnets and then Store the nylon pellets in bags to be sold in the market. Fishermen will be Sensitized about the collection of abandoned fishnets.
Green Orient:
Reducing the production of plastic waste in the coast of Naameh and Damour
(11 months)
Location: Chwayfet, Damour & Naameh
This project aims at raising awareness about sorting at source in 2 universities and 18 schools, also organizing sessions for traders, farmers, women, resorts and distributing metal bins, glass jars, shopping bags. as well as exhibition for the environmental competition and a Seashore cleanup.
Green Southerners:
Cleaning up and preserving the sea shore in AbbasiehDamour (11 months)
Location: Abbasieh
The aim is to restore the natural life at the seashore and create a safe area for visitors, cleaning the beach in Abbasieh, implementing awareness activities including art competitions.
Hourouf:
Upcycling plastics for construction in Nahr Ibrahim area (11 months)
Location: Nahr Ibrahim
This project aims at recycling plastic materials to reuse them in the manufacture of stones for construction. Hourouf will clean the beaches in Nahr Ibrahim and then after sorting and cleaning the plastics inside and outside (through a special machine pumping water with pressure to remove dirt), plastics will be mixed with cement, sand and other materials in a large mixing machine with a capacity of one tone per mixture and deliver stones to be used for building walls, sidewalks, etc..
Rawda Al-Fayhaa High School Alumni Association:
Arts from plastics in Tripoli streets (11 months)
Location: Mina & Tripoli
The project aims at collecting plastic at the school first and then design colorful walls from plastics about the sea and plastic pollution in one of Tripoli’s streets and transforming the plastics collected into containers for planting.
Auberge Beity:
Waste management in Jounieh touristic resorts and beaches (5 months)
Location: Jounieh
This project aims at improving the management and treatment of plastic garbage in 20 tourist resorts located on Jounieh beaches. Auberge Beity NGO will contact all marine resorts (restaurants, swimming pools and hotels) located on Jounieh beach, held meetings with them purchase waste containers and distribute them to resorts in order to collect plastics once a week in cooperation with the municipality of Jounieh. Focused sessions to help them developing internal policies for environmental protection and waste sorting.
Byblos EcoLogia:
Act4Med: Upcycling the Mediterranean Sea (11 months)
Location: Amshit, Okaibe, Kfaraabida
Act4Med’s aims at cleaning the sea by extracting plastic waste mainly from seabed, the sea surface and or the shorelines with the help of local fishermen, divers and other volunteers mainly students and then turning them into recycled pellets, and or threads that can be used to create conscious, affordable and unique decoration furniture and fashion items. A waste management unit will be established to encourage reducing and innovative up cycling of plastic waste.

Saving Our Salt SOS Anfeh (6 months)
Location: Anfeh
This project has the main following objectives: provide “plastic free” Salt Production for Droub el Meleh at Deir el Natour and Ras el Safi and work for a Plastic Free Area at Anfeh Peninsula and Deir el Natour, through the implementation of a local innovative tool to filter sea water that is structured from a wind mill, pump, metallic tube and under water stainless steel filter adjustable to be removed every year before winter to prevent microplastic in water to reach Salina; Train volunteers; Build up and Distribute special handmade barrels for sorting at Sites location; Raise awareness of the local community to maintain a clean sea all year long. Create incentives to the local community to collect waste and reuse it at Beit el Meleh Museum. Clean Up for the project locations with volunteers; Set up for cigarette collection on the shore.

Saint Simon intervention against plastic pollution (6 months)
Location: Saint Simon, Ghbeiry
Facilitating the separation of wastes from household and commercial sources at Saint Simon area including interactive sculpture(s), recycling units, a fish market, a beach agora and uplifting coastal facades.
OBBA:
Beach school and Blue Police at Ramlet el Bayda (3 months)
Location: Beirut
This project aims for: cleaning Ramlet Bayda Public Beach with the help of OBBA volunteers, waste will be sorted and sent for upcycling and recycling purposes, establishing “Learning Huts” to serve as “beach school”, as permanent campaign post and as venue for general public, beach goers and namely children and adolescents to raise awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution, in addition to establishing units of volunteers to serve as an informal “Blue Police” to prevent plastic pollution through a resorting to grassroots approach and opening channels of direct dialogue with beach goers.
Serepta:
Plastic-free Sarafand sea and beach (6 months)
Location: Sarafand – Khaizaran Coastal Line
Filling the seashore of Sarafand with garbage containers for non-organic wastes and transport the collected wastes to the sorting center. Launching a campaign to clean Sarafand Sea from plastic residues and fishing nets and to spread awareness among fishermen and their negative impact of using them while promoting alternative ways of fishing.
Ambassadeurs de la Citoyenneté ADLC:
Bi’ati Bayti – Communal composting & recycling initiative by ADLC (6 months)
Location: Ghobairy
This project will promote the reuse, the recycle of plastics and the sorting at source (neighborhoods within the Mount Lebanon region) while raising awareness among young students and schoolchildren to limit and reduce the use of plastic. Multifunctional objects interfered with plastic and wood will be created for decorative and informative purposes and organic waste collected at the source will be composted. ADCL will monitor the progress of the law “Zero plastic at school.
Youth of Hope:
Boat on the river without plastic (5 months)
Location: Kasmieh
Collect recyclable Materials and recycle them. Design a small boat that that it could be located anywhere in the river. The waste is guided by the automatic conveyer belt into the cargo hold and once it’s full, a message is sent to the local operator.
Development Inc:
Combating plastic pollution through upcycling using ROGP technology (6 months)
Location: Beirut
This project will target AUB neighborhood community to recycle rejects of glass and plastic waste from 65 buildings and selected F&B outlets and transform them through ROGP, an innovative cheaper technology, into useful material widely used by designers and architects such as public furniture for the neighborhood public spaces in Ras Beirut. Bins will be placed for collection and an awareness campaign will be developed by the AUB Neighborhood Initiative, through electronic informative flyers in the neighborhood and awareness sessions for residents, helpers, managers, employees and visitors about ROGP and the rejects of plastics and glass.
Inmaa Foundation:
Save our sea save our life (6 months)
Location: Qalmoun
The main objectives of this project: cleaning Qalamoun beach, raising awareness about plastics and sorting from the source, involving fishermen to promote sustainable techniques and providing them dedicated places for fishing in corporation with fishermen union and Qalamoun municipality. Waste sorting containers will be distributed accordingly along this shore for these purposes.
Live Love Lebanon:
National Clean Up program: Coastal Edition (6 months)
Location: Anfeh, Hamat, Batroun, Antelias, Zouq Michael, Jiyeh, Saida, Naqoura, Beirut, Dbayeh
Reduce the amount of waste thrown in the Lebanese maritime space and reduce waste’s impact on the environmental, economic and touristic sectors in Lebanon. This will be achieved through supporting and engaging local Lebanese communities in conducting nation-scale clean-ups, Adopt a beach system.
LHEE:
Collect, change the plastic … you win if you think about it (3 months)
Location: Jiyeh
Contribute to the treatment of marine pollution sources from plastic waste and that by removing plastic waste from the seabed and the beach and by recycling plastic bottles and containers discarded along the coast in innovative ways.
Mosawat Association:
Reduce Single Use Plastic to protect Beddawi Sea (6 months)
Location: Beddawi
The project will distribute 40 small metal containers for cafes, restaurants, snacks, fresh juice shops, sweet shops, mini markets and super markets, grocery shops and wedding halls to gather non-recyclable single use plastics and then gathered in a collection center for daily plastic gathering in Beddawi for treatment and transform it to RDF. Fabric bags will be distributed as alternative for plastic bags for people who are bringing plastics to center from their home and an awareness campaign will be implemented in parallel.
HEAD:
Community Recycling Plastics in Monsef and Fidar (6 months)
Location: Monsif- Fidar
It is a project implemented in Monsif and Fidar in establishing a center to upcycle plastics into crafting products to be sold in the local market as touristic symbols for Lebanese coast and marine life. This center will be self-financed and this pilot project will fund continuous cleaning campaigns and could be replicated in other region.
